Question: Liver question : was in hospital recently to check out leg infection where had ankle surgery . Also had a catscan with contrast to rule out pulmonary embolism
But have a medical question:
Have a 2cm liver lesion likely represents a hemagioma . 2cm hypodense lesion in left
Lobe of liver peripheral nodular pedaling most likely representing a hemangioma

What does this all mean and is something serious and why in emergency room did they not mention this to me ? Is it serious or not

Brief Answer:
Hemangiomas are not serious and often left alone!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this liver finding and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you. A hemangioma refers to a blood collection and in most cases left alone. No aggressive measures are needed for this. It is not cancer and can never develop into cancer. For why they never mentioned it, maybe they considered is a non significant finding or they forgot.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
From the report, the term hemagioma means blood collection!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The report says it is a hemagioma ( mass filled with blood). They are benign liver masses. If they want to confirm, I will say let them do so. However, the sort seems to suggest they are likely not to do an MRI than do one. You may ask your doctor if he saw this and what his take was. But from the word hemagioma, it is nothing serious.

I wish you well.
