Question: I have been treating what I thought was a hemorrhoid for slightly more than a week. It's more external than internal. It has not changed at all. It's not painful, but it shouldn't be there.

Brief Answer:
Please, be patient and it would resolve slowly!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this hemorrhoid and all the disturbing thoughts this has caused you. Hemorrhoids often take long to be reabsorbed and more so in situations where the clot is big. Because it causes no pain, I will recommend that you observe for at least two weeks before seeking any further medical attention. In most cases, this would resolve spontaneously.

If possible, please upload an image for me to review and provide more insights.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
What foo you use for treatment?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

When there is just a lump from hemorrhoid crisis, there is no special treatment. This is often clotted blood that gets reabsorbed by the body system over time. There is nothing special you should be doing about it. Most treatment for hemorrhoids is for pain relief. Lifestyle modifications and diet changes help prevent constipation that is often at the beginning of the crisis.

I hope this is clear enough. If not, am happy to take it all over again. I wish you well.
