Question : Hello doctor, I tested positive to hep b sAg......I did a follow up test and I tested negative to hep 'b' 'e' antigen with a viral load of 512 copies.....please what do I do?

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
You have Hepatitis B infection as indicated by a positive HBsAg. The absence of HBeAg and low viral load indicates a less severe infection and low infectivity. Please let me know your liver function tests. Please check your IgM antibodies to core antigen. If present, you probably have an acute infection and the body is clearing the infection. At your age only 10% of the infections go to a chronic state.
If the HBsAg remains positive for more than 6 months, it is indicative of a chronic infection and has to be treated.
