Suggest Treatment For Herpes Simplex 1
Question: hello, I've been diagnosed with Herpes Simplex I, the outbreak begins more than two weeks ago, I've been taking anti-virus pills but the symptom remains. Every morning I wake up with lips being stick together by some transparent-yellow thing, also when I brush my teeth it bleeds. Do you have any suggestions?

I am so sorry to hear about this herpes outbreak. It is often a stubborn infection and the first episode usually takes longer to get completely resolved. I will suggest that you exercise some patience to see it fully resolved. Acyclovir is the right choice of drug and what I use most often and will not suggest that it should be changed. All we need is time for healing to be complete. I will also like to know what your take is on whether this is getting worse or better though at a slower pace. Applying vaseline will prevent lips from gluing which in itself retards healing.
