Question: My mom was given the following medications and can't remember what there for. She has high blood pressure and arthritis. She is also taking a fairly new drug as alternative to chemotherapy. Not tamoxifen the other. She had breast cancer in 1994 and April 2014. She had mastectomy in '94. In 2014 the found another lump which when biopsied was found to be cancer. Other than that, she is in pretty good health for her age. Any help you give, I'd appreciate it or if you don't have time to look up for us, could you direct me what web site. I can go to. Many thanks for your time. Konnie Johnston

Brief Answer:
I'll explain them, please read on

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Tamoxifen is a drug used for breast cancer. An alternative is anastrozole. I couldn't know what her doctor prescribed so I'm just guessing.

Benazepril, atenolol and hydrochlorothiazide are antihypertensive agents.
Benazepril is an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, atenolol is a beta-blocker and hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic. All of them lower the blood pressure. Atenolol lowers the pulse rate as well.

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). NSAIDs are used to treat pain.
I'm not sure if that was all you wanted, or you need more details for the drug (please specify, if you do).

I hope I've helped!
