Question : Non smoking 60 yr old white male...25mg atenelol and regular aspirin daily. Asthma well controlled, chronic sinus and depression/anxiety. Night time bp of 155/65 w/ 56 pulse. Really upsetting. Just upped atenelol to 50 after Dr visit today. Daytime bp of 150/88. Dizzy/light headed and some neck pain w/ mild headaches last 2 months. Neck xray today shows some age related disc problems. Scheduled for brain mri to rule out anything weird. This bp thing is making me crazy....had 120/80 for 30 + yrs...ps 6' and 150 lbs...your thoughts
Brief Answer:
I would add another BP medication
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
In your case with high blood pressure and heart rate of 56 bpm I would rather add another medication like Amlodipin or Losartan, that increase Atenolol dose.
Have low told to your doctor that your heart rate is below 60?
Regards,
