Suggest Treatment For High BP

Question: Doctor, I have High Blood pressure close to 140/97, am 66 years old, male, and I take the following three medications namely:
ATENOLOL-----25 mg.
AMOODIPINE BESYLAT-------10mg.
BENAZEPRIL HCL----------20mg.
Are these three pills a good combination? I just started taking ATENOLOL as of yesterday, and the other two I started taking them about 2 years. My BP was a little bit the same.
Now that I just started taking ATENOLOL, do you thing it can do the job?
The popular side effect of ATENOLO is reduction of sexual activities. My wife and enjoy sexual activities, will this be noticeable?
Please let me know if these combination will not be too severe for my life activities.

I understand your concern.First of all I would like to say that each drug comes with a list of its effects and side effects.It is the patient and the physician who decides the benefits and adverse effects ratio.

Not only atenolol but benazepril has a side effect of sexual dysfunction.But these side effects are very rare.So,some most patients do not have any such side effects.You can go ahead and take this combination of pills until you see any hindrance in your sexual life.

You can always visit your doctor with your complaints and change your drugs whenever required.
