Brief Answer:
At least 3 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having polycystic ovarian syndrome as you are having irregular periods, and increased blood sugars are the common manifestation in PCOS due to the underlying insulin resistance, which is the main causative factor of all the symptoms in this syndrome.
Metformin improves the insulin resistance, lowers the sugar levels, and improves the hormonal profile in PCOS.
This definitely helps in regular ovulation and periods, and hence increase the chances of conception.
The effect of the metformin is enhanced if you loose weight by regular exercise and work out.
Loss of even 5%weight greatly increase the chances of conception.
You should continue these medications for at least 3 months.
Moreover, you should also take folic acid tablet daily as taking it in preconceptional period reduces the risk of congenital anomalies in the fetus.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Should continue the medications

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Cabergoline should be taken in the dose you have prescribed for increased prolactin levels in patients with infertility.
The effect of metformin comes in 2-3 months.
You can conceive while on this medications, but cabergoline should be stopped once you are pregnant.
You will conceive once your hormonal profile is normal.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
