Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good day.
Diet and exercise are two corner stones of diabetes management. One thing to understand is that even if you are on a strict diet , one often need some form of medication to control blood glucose.

Regarding diet, the best option is to avoid simple sugars as much as possible like honey and eat complex carbohydrates like brown bread. Food intake should be split in to 3 main meals and 3 snacks.

This means that between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner there should be a small snack. Dinner should be the least and there can be a bedtime snack as well.
One portion of fruit is a good choice of snack.

Exercise at least 5 days a week. 30 minutes each time of brisk walking would be sufficient. Aim for losing at least 5% of current weight.

Meet a GP and a dietician. GP might need to arrange some blood tests as well.
