Brief Answer:
Don't need any medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist from Fortis Hospital.
I just went through your reports & found that you have slightly deranged lipid profile & Hemoglobin on higher side. Let us consider both one by one.
1) First the abnormal lipid profile - The current guidelines for cholesterol management is based on LDL level and medicine is advised only at level >190. In your case it is 170. So it is treated with dietary modifications & exercise only.
About diet- decrease fat rich diet, if you have to use oil, use olive oil.(Note- You don't have to completely stop fat intake). Decrease junk food.
Exercise regularly (like brisk walking or running) for at least 30minutes for minimum 5 days a week.
Check your lipid profile again after 6 months.
2) Coming to Hemoglobin on higher side - Your Hb is 16.9. First you don't have to worry about it. Do you have a history of smoking? If yes, than its normal for a smoker to have high Hb, due to smoke which increase the Hb concentration. It can also increase with environmental smoke. It is to increase the oxygen delivery to organs.
So don't worry about that. If you are smoking than quit it because you can't do much about the environmental smoke.
So just follow a healthy lifestyle & you will be fine.
Hope i answered your query. If you have any more question, I'll be happy to help.
Wishing you a healthy & happy life.
Thanks
Take care

I have got few queries - kindly please revert back.

Regarding using Olive oil - please suggest the brand best suit for reducing Cholesterol. I will be following your other suggestion to go for walk daily.

And further regarding High Hemoglobin - Please note I haven't smoke any time in my life and also I don't drink at all. So am keen to know further :

1) the reasons for high Hemoglobin ?

2) any risk that comes with high HB ?

3) Steps that I can take to reduce HB (if required) ?

4) I generally donate blood every 6 months due to high HB - so shall I continue doing the same and how often should I Donate ?

Also please note my age is 38 years and am working in MNC (in case this information helps you further).

Kindly please revert back.

Please see detailed answer

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Welcome back.

All brands of olive are equally good & you can use any of them as per your comfort & accessibility of the brand. And its good to hear that you will start your exercise. But keep in mind that it has to be brisk walking which makes you sweat, only that will burn calorie.

Coming to high Hb - its again good that you are a non smoker & a regular blood donor.
Their are lots of causes of high Hb. Considering few relevant & important once.
1) Smoking
2) COPD - which is a disease of smokers
3) Liver disease
4) Congenital heart disease.
5) kidney disease
6) Living at high altitude.

1 & 2 are not relevant to you. So i will recommend some tests to rule out other causes
Liver function test (LFT), kidney function test (KFT) and a 2D Echo (to see for heart functioning).

A high Hemoglobin in the absence of any other abnormalities is unlikely to be related to anything of concern. So if these tests are normal, than be assured of any problem.
Their are some ways to reduce Hb, but we only recommend it when Hb is more than 20. In that we do phlebotomy (draining out half liter blood twice weekly). You definitely don't need that. So don't worry.
As said being happy increase the blood, so your happiness could be the cause of this Hb & I'll recommend & pray for you to keep being happy.
So again, don't worry about your Hb, but be sure to do the above tests.
Thanks
Take care

Brief Answer:
Reports are all good

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Reports are all good. Uric acid is slightly on higher side which may need medication. Repeat uric acid after a month, if it is still high start Tab Zyloric 100mg once daily. For your knowledge, it has nothing to do with hemoglobin.
So as relevant blood tests are fine, you don't have to worry about your increased Hb.
Also whenever you get time, get a 2D Echo done which will complete the woekup, which i expect will also be normal.
So good luck ahead.
If you have any question in future, I'll always be available.
Thanks
Take care
