Suggest Treatment For High Fever Along With Cold And Cough

Giving Meftal P should be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I am sorry to hear that your daughter is sick. Such symptoms are usually caused due to certain viral infections. The fever is needs to be controlled by the use of paracetamol, and tepid sponging. The mininum interval between doses for paracetamol is 3-4 hours. The dose required is 15 mg/kg/dose. In case it does not seem to be effective, you can give Metal P (mefenamic acid) since it is more effective than paracetamol. But please note that it is a prescription drug and you may need to get it prescribed by your doctor.
Antibiotics are unlikely to help as they are ineffective in the treatment of viral infections. Irrespective of the use of antibiotics, such infections may last for 5-10 days. Saline nasal drops like Nasoclear may be given in case of nasal block. Giving steam inhalation or use of humidifiers should be helpful by helping in diluting the cough. Just sit with the baby on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. I would suggest adding Relent Syr. 2.5 ml once daily as it contains a mucolytic along with an antiallergic and can be given. It will also take care of the runny nose. I would not suggest any other medication.
Please be patient. But if the child grows lethargic or develops wheezing, you would have to take her to a pediatrician without delay. Otherwise I would not really worry.
Hope that helps.

The medicine is right to be given.Would not worry about joint pains for now
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
Ibugesic plus contains ibuprofen along with paracetamol. It is more effective than paracetamol alone. See if that controls the fever. It is fine to be given, but try not to give it with empty stomach as it is a known gastric irritant. Joint pain and body ache could often occur during such episodes and I would not get concerned as of now. But if the joint pains persist, it would need a closer look.
Hope that helps.

You may try giving Meftal P
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I am sorry to hear that the temperature is still not under control. Meftal P or Mefenamic acid is more potent than paracetamol or ibuprofen and may be tried. Meftal P syrup contains mefenamic acid in the dose of 100 mg/5 mL. Usually the dose of meftal p is 5 to 8 mg per kg per dose every 8 hours. But since it is a prescription drug, you might need to get it prescribed by your doctor. In any case, visiting a doctor and remaining under his follow up is always better since he can assess the child clinically and can intervene accordingly.
Hope that helps.
