Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Headaches In A Child
Question: Hello Doctor,
My 3.5 year kid, is complaining about headache ( middle of scalp ) from past 18 hours. He is running on fever since then of around 100, we gave precautionary medicine as Calpol.
I am bit concerned about him, as he is continuously repeating "head is paining, head is paining".
Apart from fever of 100, he has lost appetite and has some rash only on chest, stomach and back.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

As your son is complaining of head pain and he is having fever and rashes. These are all the signs of meningitis. It could be bacterial or viral .
If He had only fever and rash , it could be any viral infection,doctor would have treated only with paracetamol drops but he is complaining of head pain, it shouldn't be taken lightly
So you have to meet your doctor immediately to rule out the infection and other causes.

We have visited the doctor in the morning and he prescribed Meftal for a fever which was around 100.. We have already told him about headache, what he said it gastritis and also suggested Lanzol.. Just wanted to know, if gastritis and head ache are common for a 3.5 year?

your son might be having just a viral flue
Headache and gastritis are not common in toddlers.
he might have got gastrits now because of Meftal syrup.So you can give lanzol. It reduces acidity.
headache could be be due to head heavyness as he is having fever.
Proper rest and maintaining fluids(water intake) should be taken care of thats all.
