Question : Hi Doctor, My son is suffering from fever 102 F and we administered Cruxol 325 DT at 8 PM(4 Hours 30 Mnts earlier from now), again he is suffering with 102 F now, what is the best solution at this stage. My Son is 6 years old and weighs 30 Kg.

Cruxol contains paracetamol an antipyretic medicine.The dose of paracetamol is 10-20 mg/kg /dose (maximum 60 mg/kg/day) and it can be given at an iterval of 4-8 hours.
As you have given the 325 mg tablet which is about 10 mg/kg;you may repeat the dose now(4 hr interval).
Also do tepid sponging as it helps in bringing down the temperature.
If fever persists or child developes any other symptom,please consult a physician for the evaluation of cause of fever and management accordingly.
