Suggest Treatment For High Fever With Stomach Pain And Vomiting
Question: Hi, my 7 year old kid has high fever, which is not coming down. She was given 10 ml of dolo syrup + Zifi 50 tab 3 hours back. 8 hour back she had 5 ml domstal syrup, 5 ml dolo syrup, zifi tab. Since she omitted now, we have given her 5ml domstal again, what should we give now to control fever & after what duration? Her weight is 20kg. Doctor had prescribed domstal since she had stomach pain, omitting sensation.

I understand your concern.
First of all, your kid is having some infection, might be a stomach infection as you have mentioned stomach pain and nausea. Thats why she was given zifi tablet. Now, if you are giving dolo syrup, the normal dosage is thrice daily and it also depends upon which strength you are giving. As she has had dolo syrup 3 hours back, dont give any further dosage now. You can again repeat a dose of 5ml after 3-4 more hours. In the meanwhile, measure her accurate body temperature hourly and maintain a chart. Also give her cold sponging. Continue domstal and zifi as advised.
You can give her dolo syrup 5ml four times daily considering her weight of 20kg. It should be effective and the fever should come down once the infection is controlled.
You can also get a complete hemogram done to assess the extent of infection i.e. is it mild or moderate or severe.
You can consult your doctor and get the above done or prescribed.
