Question : I'm a 37 y/o female and have been diagnosed with PCOS, but given no treatment. They gave me the diagnosis because my testosterone levels are high and I have excessive facial hair. I'm sometimes mistaken for a male. The Drs haven't done any sonogram or endoscopic procedures to look at my ovaries. I have a 19 yr old, another who would be 17 (died from SIDS), and twin 9 year old twins. So I've had no problem conceiving. They did test me for Cushions disease which came back negative. Anytime they have checked my thyroid it has came back normal. I am overweight and have tried a million and one ways to lose weight. All without any luck. I need a direction to start to find a solution to this issue. Please help.

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
You are having significant hirsutism ( facial hair). Sad to know that no treatment was offered to you for this common disease.
The tests that we do in a similar case are
1. Serum testosterone, LH, FSH, 17-hydroxyprogesterone, prolactin, thyroid function tests
2. Tests to rule out Cushing's syndrome
3. Ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis
The possibilities in your case are
1. Polycystic ovarian disease
2. Secondary causes like - non classical adrenal hyperplasia, hyper prolactinemia, androgen secreting tumours etc
Since you had a history of SIDS, non classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a possibility ( elevated 17 hydroxy progesterone). The initial investigation will help you. Please consult an Endocrinologist who can help you with this.
There are effective treatment for this and you can change to complete feminine looks.
