Suggest Treatment For Hip Pain That Radiates To Testicles And Abdomen
Question: My husband has hip pain radiating into his testicles and lower abdomen. His FP provider said he had infection and gave him antibiotics. He did not get better and had ultrasound of testicles which was negative. He was given stronger antibiotics and is being referred to urology and MRI of abdomen is suggested. What is his differential?

As per your description, pain has started from hip and radiating to other areas.
Sometimes, pain from the abdomen can radiate to the testis in conditions like Ureteric stone.
This can be confirmed by Ultrasound abdomen or CT Scan abdomen.
Apart from antibiotic, anti inflammatory tablet has to be taken.
The testis will be suspended by a cord like structure called spermatic cord which has coverings extended from the abdominal wall. So,musculoskeletal pain can also have pain in that area.
As higher investigation like MRI has been ordered, definitive diagnosis can be obtained.
