Brief Answer:
Your problem needs evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.

There are so many causes of your symptoms and it needs evaluation. Scanty menses can affect fertility(as you are in reproductive age group) so it is very important to rule out the cause and treat it accordingly. In your case hypothyroidism is one of the cause of your problem. In that case you need thyroid profile to rule out low thyroid hormones. If low thyroid hormones are there then your menses become normal after treatment.

I want to ask you that are there any other symptoms associated with scanty menses?
Are you undergone any surgical procedure?
Are you using oral pills or IUCD?
- most common causes other then hypothyroidism are-
-PCOD
- Sudden weight loss or strenuous exercise or any illness
- any condition which cause decrease estrogen hormone and increase male hormone testosterone.
- stress

You should consult a gynaecologist and get your general and pelvic examination done.

Investigation required-
Thyroid profile, blood sugar, hormonal profile (LH, FSH, prolactin, testosterone, estrogen, progesterone), Ultrasound pelvis to see the endometrial thickness.

Till then my advise is as following-
1) Treat the cause
2) Take healthy diet rich in protein, leafy vegetables and fruits
3) Maintain proper weight
4) Do meditation and avoid stress
5) Take multivitamins

Hope I have answered your query if you have further question I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
