Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Question: Hi I am taking regular Eltroxin 100 mg for last 9 years. All of sudden realized for last 2 months that weight is increasing, stiffness in joints, irregular digestion, disturbed sleep, irritation level are high. Got the TSH done again and same came to be 7.8 .... Do not know what needs to be done ? Please help

Welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting the question. I understand your concerns.

These symptoms may be due to hypothyroidism. Your TSH is high on treatment. Please check whether you are taking the correct medication in morning empty stomach daily and you are not taking any drugs of foods within 30 minutes of Eltroxin. If you are taking medications properly, then your dose of Eltroxin has to be increased. In usual settings the dose is increased to 125 mcg and followed up after 2-3 months with TSH. This should cure your symptoms.
