Question : Inactive bowel. I haven't had a normal bowel movement in 3 weeks following adhesion surgery. Food sometimes stays down, daily enama a (1 wk now), laxatives, suppositories, pain above naval. Pain every night at 3-4 am. Also pain left side. Been to the ER 2x. They say X-ray showed looping, but still sent me home with laxative and enema regime.

Detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Unfortunately adhesions removal leads to new adhesions creation. Some persons are prone to adhesions creation more than others. And your symptoms clearly indicate partial bowels obstruction most likely due to adhesions.
I suggest you to have a test which will show if there is any narrow area and in which part of your intestines. This test is called enteroclysis (abdominal CT with oral contrast).
It is possible that the recent surgery were ineffective and you may need another one.
Please consult your surgeon.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
