Brief Answer:
Please get kidneys investigated in detail

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Kidneys are important organs which help in excretion. Urine is generated in the kidneys and then passed on to the bladder from where it is ejected out to the exterior at regular intervals. The ejection part is under voluntary control and regulated by the nervous system. You might have had a problem with the ejection of urine from the bladder for a reasonable time in the past. This can cause retention of urine leading to back flow into the kidneys causing kidney disease.

Even if it is late, you must consult the urologist and get your kidney function tests done. After the investigations like blood urea, serum creatinine, GFR etc, the current status of kidney function will be known. If required, a renal biopsy may also be indicated depending on your kidney function tests.

With recent advances in patient care, kidney disease patients can lead a near normal life if the disease is in the early stages. A slightly advanced disease condition can also be treated with medicines and by taking proper diet and fluids as recommended by your doctor.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
