Suggest Treatment For Indigestion And Acid Reflux While On Omeprazole

Question: I have had problems since I was a teenager with my stomach. I go from having to go to the bathroom with an upset stomach to not being able to at all in one day. I battle gas, indigestion, and acid reflux on a daily basis. At times I have had stomach pains severe enough to put me on my knees, but my doctor seems to think it is nothing to worry about. I take omeprazole 20 twice a day and a bentyl 10 every night before bed. I also have Pepcid and tums on hand for extra help, which I use quite often. Is this IBS?

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible IBS. I feel strongly that you need to meet a gastroenterology specialist.
IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion meaning other conditions have to be ruled out.
So you need stool test , colonoscopy at the minimum.
Possibly biopsy depending on the reports of colonoscopy.
Meanwhile, start with
1. isapghula husk 3tsf at bedtime.
2. high fiber diet .
3. plenty of fluids.
4. tab amitryptiline - you will need to get a prescription for this.
5. tab rifaximin - you will need a prescription for the medicine.
