Suggest Treatment For Indigestion And Heart Palpitations

Question : have indigestion and heart palpatations.....are they related?? soon after eating there is a build up of gas and a feeling of fullness. my heart will sometimes speed up or beat very slow with feelings of missed or erratic beats. is this an idigestion problem causing heart issues or a heart issue disguised as indeigestion.

I read your query and understood your concerns.

Indigestion and bowel distension (gas) is responsibile for heart palpitations. Indigestion is associated with premature heart beats which are harmless in most of the cases and you shouldn't worry about them.

However I would recommend to schedule for an appointment with a cardiologist for further information.

If you were my patient I would recommend to do the following examinations:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring

i am also currently on an antibiotic for a tooth infection....any chance this could have some side effects?

Hi back,

Yes antibiotic use especially Amoxicillin use may be responsibile for indigestion and palpitations.

These side effects will be improved with probiotics use. Probiotics use improve indigestion symptoms and by doing so reduce the palpitations.
