Suggest Treatment For Indigestion And Sore Throat

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Jan 2015
Question: I have a gastric band that was recently filled for the first time 29/12. I got a sore throat soon after I ate that night and it has gotten worse and worse. It doesn't feel like indigestion at all though. I can still swallow but it is very sore in the throat.
I wonder if I have a blockage causing this terrible sore throat and general fluey feeling or is it just flu? Would. GP be able to tell? Should I just call the holiday backup for my gastric surgeon?

Brief answer...looks like a sore throat .
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and feel that your pain in throat is most likely due to the sore throat due to viral infection and has nothing to do with refilling of your band.
You can consult your GP for examination and inspection.
Till you meet him, start doing warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day ,drink hot liquids and avoid cold drinks. In case you develop fever, you can take a Tylenol.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
