Question: HI Doctor, I am a 40 year old woman, non- smoker, exercises frequently, not on a balanced diet. A week ago I was on the toilet and got pain in my lower abdomen towards my ovaries. The pain got so bad I realised there was something serious I got up and the pain got consistently worse, like contraction pains and it felt like my entire abdomen was being ripped out my body. I fell to the ground and was sweating and shacky. I started to vomit and was very light headed. The pain did not go away, I was rushed to hospital, they did not find anything conclusive. They referred me to a Gynae and recently found I have an Ovarian Cyst which turned and is 2/7cm. I have gone for blood examination and awaiting the results. However I am experiencing pain in my left abdomen with back pain and the cyst is in the right. If I eat fatty foods my stomach hurts, the pain gets worse in the evenings. If I try to stretch it is painful. I am full of gas and indigestion, feeling very tired and not myself. When I lie down there is a feeling of pressure on my ovaries. Also I have a lump by my front ear lobe that has not gone away and a blind pimple or lump on my chin, and I never get acne or pimples. I did go for Botox 2 weeks prior to this happening, and prior to this I was on a vacation where we were drinking much larger amounts of alcohol then I am used to. I am really panicking and as I am developing things I have never experienced before I am so nervous. I normally have a regular period and have never had problems before this. I have also never been on the birth control pill which I am aware can prevent Ovarian Cysts. Please inform me if indigestion and cramps and the symptoms I am having are related to the Ovarian Cyst tortion or If I need to worry about Gall stones, Palveas damage, or colon problems etc....

Brief Answer:
As mention below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query
I understand your concern and sorry to hear your problem

Your symptoms could be due to the indigestion, pancreatitis.
As you have not cyst on the left side then left side pain is not due to cyst torsion.
Please upload the USG scan result at the report section if you have undergone.
I would suggest to consult the internal medicine specialist as soon as possible and undergo serum amylase, and USG scan to rule out the above problem.
Meanwhile take
Tablet meftal spas for pain
Oral simethicone and tablet unienzyme can be taken
Drink plenty of water at least 4-5 liters per day
Take small frequent meal rather than large meal
Avoid alcohol and carbonated drink
Birth control pill or progesterone pill will use to resolve the cyst
Further action will depend on the test result

Hope I have answered your query
If you have further query then I will be happy to help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
