Brief Answer:
The infection period is shortened and your health condition is better.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The term abbreviation in medicine is usually used to characterize shortened medical terms.
Something that's abbreviated is shortened or reduced.

In your situation, I think that the doctor had referred to the infection.
He probably meant that the infection period is shortened and your health condition is better.

However, it is very difficult to precisely confirm this without evaluating the investigations that you may have done.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question I'll be glad to help.
