                                    Brief Answer:
Looks like combined bacterial and fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query and pictures. It looks like combined fungal and bacterial infection. I would suggest using ointments with combination of antifungal like miconazole , anti bacterial like gentamycin and corticosteroid like beclamethasone for local application.
Does she had any history of unprotected sexual intercourse. ? In such case VDRL blood test should be done to rule out syphilis.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Thank you Dr. Any idea how these would manifest? The one on her neck (right at her hairline) is an odd place to get an infection; finger a bit more understandable. Wondering how to prevent such an occurrence again. Will obtain over the counter ointments and begin treatment. Once the application of the ointment begins, should we see improvement relatively soon? How long before we should seek additional care with primary care?

Explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your follow up query.
Fungal infection can spread. Possibility is there for spreading from finger to neck or from neck to finger. You can use over the counter creams or ointments. Within 5 days you can see improvement for such infections.
Taking vitamin C regularly and using high glycerine containing soap or neem and aloe Vera soap will be helpful to prevent such infections.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
