Question: HI I AM HAVING PCOS AND TRYING FOR CONCEPTION . MY DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED TABLET FEMELLA (SIMVASTATIN 20 MG) AND OVIGYN DSR. I WANTED TO KNOW THAT DOES THIS MEDICINE ENHANCE MY FERTILITY AND WOULD IT CURES OR CONTROLS MY PCOS . CAN I TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF I AM PLANNING FOR CONCIEVING

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that Simvastatin will correct your dyslipidemia in case you are obese also . It will help in correcting PCOS . Ovigyn DSR contains Human Chorionic Gonadotropin which stimulates the corpus luteum of the ovary to produce progesterone. thus will correct the hormonal imbalance and help in pregnancy . In case you are over weight it is highly advisable to lose weight whIch will help in correcting PCOS . These medicices will need to be stopped once you become pregnant . Simvastatin should not be continued during pregnancy . You can also try metformin which is helpful in many patients to reduce insulin resistance and correcting PCOS .
