Question: Hi
I had a mild case of balanitis , showed to my urologist and he gave me quadriderm to apply , in theee days I was back to normal. 2 days after I again started getting itchy and sore.. I was still applying quadriderm as advised by the doctor for 7 days. It started becoming worse and weeping with smelly discharge. Eventually 70 percent of my penis became inflamed red and even my foreskin and under my foreskin glans. I tried curd which improved the itchy feeling and pain but it got more weepy, now it had been 10 days since the recurrence .. I showed to the urologist and he said to apply candid B and eat Zinase D an anti inflammatory along with Moxikind CV 625
Been 3 days and while it has not become worse it has not improved.

Somebody guide me- I am not diabetic and got HIV and VDRL done which is non reactive.

Hello,

Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have developed severe infection f Glans Penis (Ballanitis) and have been using antibiotic (Moxikind 625 twice daily along with topical anti fungal cream but have no satisfactory improvement

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments
1) Did you have unprotected sex with unknown woman very recently?
2) Did you have oral sex ?

In view of no response with the drugs that you have been taking it is advisable to do following basic tests
1) Culture of a discharge from the lesion .This will help to detect the organisms and appropriate antibiotic to eradicate the infection .
2) Fluorescent test to detect viral infection HPV2 virus

Till then continue drugs that you are taking and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report You may add Acyclovir twice daily

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily.

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.

no sex at all
which culture test to get done as seperate test for different problmes
also HPv2 i got ceheckes from itologist he said the issue looks like zoonz balainitis and not herpes
hiv test and vdrl are non reactive
he has given me zocon 100 for next 3 days
candid and fusidic together to be applied and asked tonstop moxilind abs anti inflamatory

Culture of a discharge from the lesion would help to identify the organisms and their antibiotic sensitivity pattern.

Zocon is an anti fungal medication.It takes two to three weeks for such infection to get cured .
