Question : I have been awake for 2 and 1/2 days. Is this something I can just ride out?

You can try sleep initiative medicines like zolpidem, alprazolam, clonazepam etc. These drugs are not having sedative effect. They just help you in initiating sleep.
So if you are having stress and tension than these drugs will help you.
Other reasons are high blood pressure, high carbon dioxide levels due to morbid obesity etc.
So control of blood pressure is must in your case.
So at present be relax and calm. Avoid stress and tension. Take any of the above mentioned drug.
