Question : I have a pretty intense rash on my face that started about a week ago. I think it might be contact dermititis based on the fact that I had skin rejuvenation 4 months ago (pretty invasive) and was doing great until I was wearing sunglasses while walking on the beach in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and in the next two days a rash started coming out around my eyes where the sunglasses were. It has since grown to other areas of my face. I've been to and urgent care (got a steroid shot) and the dermatologist two times (put on cehpaxone and topical antibiotic three days ago) and it is getting worse. Could prednisone be the answer? Don't like this medication but have used it and are very familiar with it. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Short course of prednisolone can be taken
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
According to your complaints it seems you might have developed contact dermatitis to the material of sunglasses.
For contact dermatitis you can take tablet prednisolone 20 mg once daily in the morning after breakfast for 5 days.
If a case of dermatitis it will definitely respond to prednisolone.
Steroids are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
