Hiccups are due to phrenic nerve irritation and diaphragm contractions.
The most common cause is dehydration, throat irritation etc.
So better to drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Also put lozenges in mouth for soothing effect.
Beclofen is the drug used for uncontrolled hiccups. So if needed you can consult doctor and get prescription of Beclofen.
