Posted on Tue, 1 Sep 2015
Question: I have been having R shoulder blade pain intermitantly over the last couple weeks. It is pretty painful since I take 20 mg oxycodone up to QID for chronic back pain due to an old injury. I also tried flexaril 10 mg as it might feel muscular. It really is quite intense despite those two meds. I have had some SOB during this time period.

Hello

Thank You for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. In my opinion your symptoms are because of old trauma to spine. There is a possibility that there is nerve compression which is causing recurrent pains. I would suggest you to get MRI- Whole spine done to check the status of cord & exiting nerves. Hopefully it will pin point the exact cause of pain. Apart from that try following measures:

- get a baseline ECG done to confirm the status of heart.
- Visit a Physiotherapist. He will advise some exercises that will help in relieving the stress.
- Ask some family member to massage back with oil.
- Take hot water in a rubber bottle and place it at the site of pain. It will give soothing effect.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
