Question: I am a 53 year old male, smoker for 40 years, history as a child of being anemic, last blood check three years ago with high cholesterol, and glucose numbers. Current troubling conditions include daily intense temporal headaches only on the right side of my head that expand and intensify into my eye, my nasal cavity, the floor of the right side of my nose, then down the jaw to my teeth. There is always mild pressure in the temple area with a half-dollar sized swelling just above the temple. I also have a nerve that starts behind the right ear and extends down the neck that occurs occasionally with sharp, painful pulls. NOW, my legs have been added to the problem. On my left leg, I have nerve spikes (not painful) going on 24/7 all around the left ankle and shoot upwards into the side of the calf. With both legs, even a mild stretch causes either the calves or the back of my thighs to quickly and sharply go into a painful cramp. Tension is always felt in these two muscle areas as if they are just on the verge of cramping. I am not on any medications at this time. I am primarily seeking the root cause and not just throw medications at it. I am a retired veteran, and the medical consults are always less than 5 minutes, will not listen, and just throw drugs at me, never solving any problems. I can't do this any more and want to learn to get healthy again ( I know that includes my smoking). Please don't give me the quick and easy answer. Give it some honest thought please. I have two family members who are disabled and I need to be strong for them.
