Brief Answer:
Severe iron deficiency anemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

I have gone through your question and understand your concern about severe anemia.

Since you have already taken the iron supplements and still your blood iron level has not much increased then we need to find out the underlying cause of iron deficiency whether it is Mal-absorption or insufficient iron dosage.

We would also need to rule out any chronic iron loss (blood loss) from the body by taking complete medical history of any disease and various tests.

But before going into further discussion,I would like to ask some more information,

1) Tell me the exact dosage of iron tablets you have been given and since how many days you are taking it?
2) What is your latest blood iron level (hemoglobin level)?
3) What is your latest serum vitamin B12 level?
4) Have you suffered any chronic blood loss problem like piles or hook worm infestation or any other?

Kindly get back to me with these answers,I will try my best to guide you according to your requirement.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
