Question : I had sex on 31th of Oct. Had Ipill in 12 hours. It was 3 days after my periods.
Bleeded after 4 days of taking it for 3days. Then had a hcg test on 20th Nov. The result was less than 1.2mlu/ml.
I have had a history of irregular periods. Its been one month but since last. Is my test wrong or delay can happen?
How much delay should I expect?

Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to health care magic.

1.It could be hormonal imbalance after an emergency contraceptive medication.

2.It can take up to two months to get normal periods.

3.B-HCG levels are quite low more over you have taken it in less than two weeks of your LMP, so pregnancy can not be rule out in this case.

4.I would recommend to get a urine pregnancy test done to confirmation about pregnancy, and a pelvic ultrasound for retained products of conception - at the same time the ultrasound will help to evaluate the condition of uterus and ovaries.

5.Suggest in future take precautions - as frequent emergency pills can effect the periods irregularities and difficulty in future pregnancies.

Good luck.

But, my doctor said that blood hcg test is more accurate than urine test. And what do you mean by quite low?
Is it not the level of a nonpregnent women?
When should I do it again?
My last period cycle started on 25th October. I took the test on 20th November. The gap is more than three weeks. Please tell me again.

Brief Answer:
USG pelvis with BHCG

Detailed Answer:
Hello welcome back.

Yes, you are absolutely right that B-HCG is more confirmation than the urine pregnancy test.

Since it easy and home test i have recommended. If you have possibility to get it done its well and good - Generally it will be reduction in the level.

Quite low means i meant its early pregnancy level less than 3 weeks from the LMP that you are pregnant.

I would strongly suggest to get a pelvic scan for endometrial thickness - that also gives the confirmatory. As i have a suspicion of I pill failure.

When to get it done - generally BHCG level goes 50% less with in 48 hours. So you can get it done any time from now.

Hope i have answered your query.
Any thing please do not hesitate.
