Question : I have a growth on my anus, its irritated and painful, usually it just appears as a large skin tag but this happens occasionally, im curious as to what it is and how concerned I should be. I am on a waiting lis to see a surgeon but that is a long time away.
Brief Answer:
Polyp.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
This lump is polyp for sure. Polyp in other words is a benign tumor which can turn into a cancer. That is why every polyp of this area should be removed and tested.
From the attached picture it is clear that you have large hemorrhoids as well.
I suggest you to do not wait with the polyp. Like I have mentioned before, it can turn into a cancer. Please consult proctologist and have it removed.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I will call my doctor this week and see if I can get in sooner, should I request a proctologist? Right now I am scheduled to see a general surgeon. In your opinion does this look normal for a polyp?
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
General surgeon is fine as well.
Detailed Answer:
General surgeon is also fine and should help you as well. This looks like a typical polyp. But what exactly it is pathologist report can tell.

what would be the best way to treat the hemorrhoids? there is some, from what I have read, typical symptoms that I am experiencing but only in one spot.
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
Hemorrhoids removal is the effective method of treatment.
Detailed Answer:
You have hemorrhoids for 100%. No doubt in that. They are clearly visible on the images.
Hemorrhoids are nothing more than enlarged veins. Once this veins get enlarged, wont disappear by theirs own. The only method of permanent cure is surgical removal. Suppositories and other kind of treatment are only to get rid of symptoms. As you do not have symptoms, no need to use any suppositories. The best you can do at this point is to improve your diet so the stools will be soft and regular. Try to add some fiber to your diet and drink more mineral water.
If the hemorrhoids will give you some symptoms, you may consider theirs removal.
