default
Posted on Fri, 17 Jun 2016
Question: Hi Dr.

My daughter age 6, her eyes turn red when watching TV, phone for even half hour or when goes walking outside.
The red eye also leads to eye irritation.

Post consultation with an eye specalist, she has been prescribed with Allergen FMLT, and this gives her relief.

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Anti allergy drops

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
Your child has allergy. For anti allergy drops we will be happy to use a safe eye drop rather than steroids which FML is.FML should be kept as last resort as long term steroid exposure leads to lot of complications.
Oloptidine available as Olopat eye drop can be used 2to 3 times a day and use oral anti allergy medicine if Olopat alone is not giving satisfactory results. Try to control allergy without steroid exposure.
These allergies last a long time and medication has temporary relief so treatment is prolonged, steroid exposure for long duration is hazardous.
I feel I have answered your question fully,if there is any further query then you can get back to me otherwise rate this answer.
