Question : my thoat makes a noise every time i swallow and it's really making me nervous. it's even with just saliva . it sounds like somewhat of a clicking noise. from what i have been able to find it sounds like gerd or LPR. I do have post nasal drip too which could contribute to some of my trouble swallowing

Brief Answer:
LPR and GERD can give such problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. LPR (laryngopharyngeal reflux) and GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux) can irritate the throat constantly and cause such symptoms. Post nasal drip also can be the out come of this. GERD and LPR can irritate whole upper respiratory tract.
Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) and motility enhancers like domperidone for 4 weeks will be helpful for this. A consultation by an ENT specialist for proper examination of throat is well appreciated also.
Take light meals at short intervals. Avoid carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and smoking. Taking vitamin C is good. Have dinner at least 2 hours before bed time. Raise your head end more with additional pillows while sleeping also.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
