Question: Hi
I am having a urine infection right now, don't know if it is a fungal or a bacterial infection. It gives an itchy and burning sensation all the time. Even anal itchiness is caused like the one which kids have due to worms. Totally confused and irritated. Please suggest.

Hello
I had gone through your question and I will definitely help you in best possible way.
At the outset I would like further information for better assessment for the condition
Your age and relevant medical history
Since how long you have this problem?

In my opinion you should get your urine test for microscopy as well as culture and sensitivity test.
you may require a course of antibiotics depending upon the reports.

Anal itchiness might be related to fissure in anus or parsitic infection
I would advise you to follow these guidelines
Have plenty of fluids 4 to 5 liters a day which will help by flushing of the urogenital tract.
Avoid constipation by taking laxatives or stool softeners
you can apply lignocaine ointment for perianal itching
You should take hot water bath or sitz bath by sitting in a bath tub filled with warm water.

Please write back to me with these details I have asked for, so that I will be able to tell you more accurately
Best wishes

Hello Sir
I am 27 now and I have suffered from UTI previous year only. I am having urine infections very frequently mild ones every alternate month which go off by 3-4 days, and heavy ones yearly. This time there is heaviness of lower abdomen followed by pain and white discharge. Laxative solved my problem. But is it possible to cure urine infection without medicinal dosage? Waiting for your response. Thank-you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome again and thanks for the details.
I would advise you for baseline investigation to rule out any organic cause or structural defect in urogenital tract, like urine culture and sensitivity test, urine microscopy and routine test and an ultrasound.

Please follow these guidelines to treat or manage UTI without medicines
1. Have plenty of fluids to maintain good hydration and which also help by flushing off the urogenital tract.
2. You should take lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which helps by alkalizing of urine.
3. You can take syrup alkasol during the episode of acute UTI

Hope this answers your question
Please feel free to ask for further assistance I will be happy to help you
Best wishes
