Question : I am male and 49 years old. The area around my anus is raw and it is uncomfortable to wipe after using the restroom. I thought it was hemorrhoids however it doesn't really itch. I have tried preparation H as well as some diaper rash cream- help please.

Probably you have developed intertrigo.
It is a mixed bacterial and fungal infection.
I treat such cases with a combination of topical antifungal and antibacterial agent. A combination of clotrimazole cream in night and ointment mupirocine in morning works well.
It is safe and effective.
