Brief Answer:
may be intertrigo with associated infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It may be intertrigo with bacterial /and/or fungal infection. It can also occur on its own with none of these infections present.

Intertrigo refers to inflammation of the body folds. It can affect under the breasts, the armpits, the groin areas, any of the body folds.

It is worsened by heat, moisture or friction.

Treatment would involve: (1) keeping the folds separate wherever possible
by cotton or linen material
(2)avoiding any occlusive or tight material
(3)using a barrier cream to reduce friction eg petrolatum or zinc based cream eg desitin
(4)short course of mild steroid such as hydrocortisone to reduce the itching
(5)anti fungal cream or powder since this infection is commonly present

There are combination treatments such as triple paste (has petrolatum, zinc and aluminum acetate which helps to reduce moisture) or XXXXXXX goo (has anti fungal , hydrocortisone and zinc).

Both work well. A thick coat of these protective barriers would be needed.

If you use the triple paste may need to add the mild steroid cream and anti fungal (eg ketoconazole, econazole, miconazole, nystatin etc).

If there is no improvement then you should see your doctor for assessment and treatment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
