Question: if a child 6 years old gets insect bites, itches all over for 2 days. Then, hives develop on Day 3. I gave benadryl on day 3 and hives went down. Do I need to take to doctor?

Not to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Mr

Allergic reaction in form of hives/urticaria is occasionally seen in children following insect bite. Benadryl usually causes rapid improvement.
If following criteria are fulfilled then there is no cause for concern
1. No hives
2. No difficulty in breathing
3. Child is playful

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance.

Take Care

Regards
Dr Deepak
