Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rash On Face And Neck

Question: 15 year old boy has an itchy rash on face and neck. We have given benadryl, but is still very itchy and red. See photo and let us know if we should see a doctor

Since how long is he suffering from it?
Did he apply any new cosmetic or shaving cream?
does he allergic to any ingredient ?
Any history of fever or body ache associated with it?

Face and neck are most exposed part for many allergens in environment. It could be a allergic manifestation. I treat my patients with similar complaints with antihistamine oral medicines and carticosteroid topical cream.
Washing the face regularly with gentle soaps like baby soaps and non-scented soaps.
Drying the face thoroughly after bathing
Using a moisturizer or emollient for dry skin.
Avoiding skin creams and cosmetics on oily skin
Protecting the skin with suitable sunscreens.

Try these measures, if itchiness doesn't improve with these measures need to get tested for allergen and avoiding allergen is best treatment.

If he has itching in throat ,swelling of lips
or difficulty in breathing better to consult doctor immediately.

Just noticed the rash this morning. No fever or body ache. Just burning and itching. We think it may have been caused by contact with moldy rain poncho, but that was 8 hours prior to appearance of rash. NIs that possible

Yes it is possible, could be allergy to mould. Oral antihistamine medication required to reduce itching
