Question : My 7 year old autistic granddaughter ca me down with a very itchy rash yesterday on her body. She has had her chicken pox shot but it looked similar. My daughter took her in to doctor this morning. Doctor said not pox but something that started like toricitis. She did not get the name right because Cole does not do well with doctors so had her hands full with Colie. Doctor said it is highly contagious and gave a prescription for strong antibiotic ointment and if not better in a day or so they would give her a antibiotic shot. l have been in day care business for over 40 years and have never heard of a rash like this starting with a T. Could you give me some info on this?
Brief Answer:
I have also not heard/read the term toricitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform
I can understand your concern. In most of tge cases sudden appearance of generalised itchy rashes are usually allergic in origin. It responds well with oral antiallergic and application of soothening agent like calamine.
I have not heard/read the term toricitis.Even I searched on the Internet but it is not showing there also.
You have mentioned that it is like chicken pox.I want to know whether the rashes are pleomorphic or vesicular in nature?
Skin lesions are better assessed by direct visualisation.I request you to attach an image so that I better able to help you out.
