I am now experiencing an itchy hive like rash across my shoulders down upper arms and small of my back. I was diagnosed having dermatitis and was prescribed TRIAMCINOLONE 0.1%. It does aleviate the itching but I continue breaking out with new spots of rash. I have been taking the METOPROLOL since April of 2014 and started ash July 31,2015. Am I in any danger from this drug?

Can be side effect of metoprolol
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints. Metoprolol does lead to eczematous rashes on long term use but it is a rare occurrence.
You might have developed rash due to metoprolol. To confirm you need to discontinue the drug. I would recommend you to consult a doctor and get metoprolol changed to some other anti hypertensive. If the rash disappears then it can be a side effect of metoprolol.
