Question : I have a rash on my back with less on my front stomach and chest. It really itches. Started about 2 weeks ago. But from time to time over the last few months I have itched around my testicles.

Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be herpes zoster of some thoracic dermatome based on the kind of pain ful itchy rash and it's location but since it has already been reviewed by the dermatologist, and it has been ruled out then the other possibility can be allergic and yes the group of anti hypertensive losarton belongs to, has tendency to initiate allergic reactions and itching upto testes can be part of that.

It is advisable to switch to more safer group for allergies like calcium channel blockers e.g.amlodipine etc. Since you have responded well to topical and oral steroids and injectables which were most likely anti histamine so you can wait for another week to see whether it has subsided or not. If it persists then consult, dermatologist again or get a second opinion to rule out herpes.
