Brief Answer:
Treatment depends upon the site of stone.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been detected to have a stone in the Rt kidney on ultrasound scanning and C.T Scan. However there is discrepancy in opinions about the size of the stone

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Where is the stone located ? Is it in the Calyx,Renal pelvis or upper part of ureter.?
2)Is there hydronephrosis reported on ultrasound scanning or Contrast study?
3) Do you have repeated episodes of pain in loin or abdomen?
4) Do you have fever with chills and Vomiting ?
5) Is the stone Radio opaque or Radio lucent ? (Radio Opaque stones are seen in X-Ray films where as Radio lucent stones are not seen in X-ray film)

To confirm the exact size of the stone you have to take X-ray film of a size of 12 X15 inches .
As regards mode of treatment, it entirely depends upon the site where stone is located .
(whether in kidney or upper ureter) and size of the stone .
1)Normally Stone of a size of up to 8 mm can be expected to pass down without any active intervention where as stone of a size of 1cm to 2 cm can be fragmented with a procedure called as Extra Corporwal Shock Wave Lithotripsy(ESWL).This procedure is done as a out patient procedure without any anaesthesia and you need to lie down on table for 30 minutes .
2) Stones above the size of more than 2 cms are to be treated with endoscopic procedure (Key Hole Surgery)called as Per Cutaneous Nephro Lithotripsy (PCNL).This procedure is carried out by a qualified Urologist under anaesthesia.where a Urologist Makes a hole in the kidney from back and fragments the stone in kidney itself and removes the fragments through endoscope.

If stone that you have is smaller less than 8 mm you can certainly try what is called as Expectant treatment, meaning there by it will pass down of its own You need to drink more water and medications like smooth muscle relaxants (Tomsulosin or Drotaverine )which help to pass the stone down into bladder smoothly.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
