Question: I have been experiencing tinnitus for years nothing to bad but in the last 2 weeks seems to be increasing. I do not feel like i have an ear infection. I do use ear buds at the guy try too keep them lower when Im running. Has been disruptive to my hearing a bit. understanding tv a bit different. some days a little worse then others, started taking magnesium i heard that can help. I have not gotten water in the ear or flown recently. Yesterday it was making me a little off balance. Not sure if I should see a dr or what to do. Makes me nervous as I have hearing loss in the family.

Might be suffering from Labyrinthitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

Looking at your symptoms, you might be suffering from Inner ear Labyrinthitis (inflammation in the sense organ of hearing and equilibrium in the inner ear). Viral infection might be a cause.

You may find relief by taking medicine like Tablet Betahistine. It will help in Giddiness problem and may also help in Tinnitus.

Also it would be advisable to have a hearing test called Pure Tone Audiometry to know the type and extent of hearing loss.

Avoid listening to loud sounds.

If the tinnitus is disturbing in the night, then you may hear to white noise tinnitus masking sounds.

Hope this answers your question.I would be happy to answer you in case of any follow-up questions.Take care.
