Suggest Treatment For Large Rash On Underarm

Question : daughter has a raised beet red large non-symmetrical rash under her left arm - area of armpit - seems to be spreading. She says the area of the "rash" is painful, "stings" and is affecting her whole arm. She hasn't been anywhere out of doors for it to be poison ivy but I wonder about oak and sumac. She was visiting some friends yesterday in New XXXXXXX (we live in Manhattan) and they have an above ground pool. She developed the rash or infection on her way home from there. That is all the info I have. It doesn't appear to be clearing up on its own. Treating it with lidocaine/ aloe vera, but nothing to report. Any diagnosis or suggestions?
