Question: Hello Doctor,
From past 6 months I am having pain in the left side of chest. Its not regular some time its spasm or sharp. It is always followed by gasses. I had done my ecg, TMT and appears normal. I had also undergone abdominal sonography and appears normal with mild fatty acids. Today I noticed that I am having the left side chest pains while I press my upper abdomine. Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Acid reflux.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
It seems you are suffering from Acid Peptic Disease/ Acid Reflux Disease that is causing the chest pain.
Since your ECG and TMT are normal, so possibility is cardiac issues is virtually ruled out.
You should get an Upper GI Endoscopy- To rule out Peptic ulcers and hiatus hernia.
I advice following for treatment:
1. A proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole and Rabeprazole, which will help in neutralizing any acid if you have in stomach.
2. You should avoid fat and pepper in diet and prefer to take soft, bland diet.
3. You can take Smooth Muscle Relaxant like Mebeverine for stomach pain, in case you have.
4. In refractory cases drugs like chlordiazepoxide and clidinium bromide can be used, if the condition is not responding.
There is an infection called as h.pylori infection which causes recurrent gastric and duodenal ulcers and such episodes of acidity. So, if during Endoscopy your doctor finds ulcers, he would take a biopsy and Rapid Urease Test done for h.pylori infection and to get it treated.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
